Spinnaker is one of the most popular destinations in Panama City Beach. Next door to Club La Vela the duo makes for a massive city block of nonstop excitement. Though not quite as large as its neighbor it still brings to the table a night full of drunken memories.
A few things set Spinnaker apart from its next door competitor. Most notably that it is a restaurant as well, and a pretty good one at that. During the day you can set up shop and eat anything from a burger to some awesome seafood. You can check out their whole menu here. I’ve only eaten here a few times myself, but it has never been disappointing.
If you’re so inclined, or able to time it right, you can migrate straight from the restaurant atmosphere to the party one because at night it becomes a full fledged fiesta!
Once you’re able to make it to the transition and the party begins you’ll have your choice of a few rooms. One of which will surely peak your interest. First of which is the Groove Room. This room will play tons of great music from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. It will also play everything right on up to the modern Top 40. This is probably the most popular place within the club and stays packed for most of the night. And the nights around Panama City is typically roll on to around 4 a.m. during the peak season. Don’t worry about partying too long and having to drive home. There will be plenty of shuttles and taxis around, especially during Spring Break.
Another one of the great features of Spinnaker is that it has a rock arena. There is a live band there on most nights during the peak season. Most of them will play a lot of really well known music too, so you don’t have to worry about trying to groove with some music you’ve never heard before. Not that it would really matter after a few drinks though. A few big named artists have had the privilege of playing at the arena as well. What this means for you is that you might get a chance to be up close and personal to your favorite new artist because the arena only holds 4,000 people. That’s quite a decent crowd, but it’s small enough to allow you to get some rock star’s sweat on you.
All in all Spinnaker is another one of those must-see places here in Panama City Beach, especially for you Spring Breakers. If you feel you absolutely must choose between Spinnaker and Club La Vela… don’t! Go to both. You won’t be disappointed.
